DAY 1 Heading North – Travel north with suitable en-route stops to your overnight stop at 4* Holiday Inn Newcastle Gosforth Park. DBB DAY 2 Northumberland’s Coast – To colourful Seahouses to embark on a 2-hour puffin & seabird cruise around the Farne Island (non- landing). Then spellbinding Bamburgh, the royal capital of the ancient kingdom of Northumbria and its awe-inspiring castle. 2 nights at 3* Braid Hills Hotel DBB
DAY 3 A Day in Edinburgh – Truly delightful capital steeped in history. Optional city tour and included visit to the glamorous Royal Yacht Britannia, Royal Family’s floating residence for 44 years, travelling over one million miles (central lift to all decks)
DAY 4 St Andrew’s – A coast and country drive to the Kingdom of Fife and St Andrew’s, home to Scotland’s oldest university town and world- famous golf course. Onto Aberdeen for 2 nights at 4* Aberdeen Altens Hotel DBB
DAY 5 Dunnottar Castle & Stonehaven – Once seen, never forgotten... an impregnable fortress, perched atop a 160-foot rock and surrounded on three sides by the North Sea - a photographer’s delight! Attractive Stonehaven has a busy working harbour
DAY 6 Aberdeen & Fort George – Leisure time in the sparkling ‘Granite City’ before heading to Fort George, Britain’s mightiest artillery fortification built by George II. It is

DAY 7 Culloden & Cawdor – Culloden Battlefield is the site of the final Jacobite Rising, the last and most harrowing pitched battle to be fought on British soil. Romantic 14th century Cawdor Castle has literary connections to Shakespeare’s Macbeth
DAY 8 To Gretna Green – Head south by way of historic Stirling to your final overnight at 3* Gretna Hall Hotel. DBB
