ITINERARY
DAY 1 Head north to Cumbria to check-in for the next 3 nights. DBB DAY 2 – 3 At leisure with two included excursions and packed lunch one day
SATURDAY Start the day in Kendal, the Southern Gateway to
the Lakes and home of the famous Mint Cake. There is a weekly outdoor market held on the picturesque marketplace. Later enjoy a nostalgic visit to Carnforth Station, the location for David Lean’s 1945 film ‘Brief Encounter’ starring Celia Johnson and Trevor Howard. Now fully restored, the station is where you can discover background information about the making of the film. Tea and cake is included
Pre-dinner fizz before showtime with a fabulous Tom Jones tribute performing favourite songs, followed by a disco
SUNDAY Off to Windermere (never ‘Lake’ Windermere), the heavyweight of Lake District waters and Bowness with time to explore its cafes and lakeside views before a 35-minute cruise
to Ambleside (heated) at the northern end of the lake
DAY 4 All aboard for the homeward journey

Windermere Cruise, Bowness & Lakeside Motor Museum Start the day with a delightful 45-minute circular cruise (heated) on Windermere from/to Bowness with fantastic views of the wooded shorelines and bays. Explore Bowness at leisure and then take a trip down Memory Lane at the fascinating Lakeland Motor Museum, a collection of over 30,000 exhibits including recreations of period shops, a 1930s garage, a tribute to Donald Campbell plus a WW1 display
