Day 1 - From your local joining point travel via interchange to Dover for the short ferry crossing to Calais. Continue along the autoroutes of France to the overnight stop in the Burgundy area. Bed & breakfast.
Day 2 - After breakfast continue through France crossing over the Pyrenees and over the border at Perpignan arriving early evening at Santa Susanna for your 6-night stay. Dinner, bed & breakfast.
Day 3 - 7 - At leisure in Santa Susanna with TWO INCLUDED excursions. Your driver will be able to assist with ideas for local visits and excursions.
Travel to the Mediterranean city of Barcelona, the capital of Catalonia. There are two official languages spoken in Barcelona: Catalan and Castilian Spanish. Steeped in history and tradition, culture and the arts flourish in Barcelona and there are many examples of the distinctive style of Gaudi, Spain's most famous architect. You'll find magnificent architecture and excellent shopping in the famous Ramblas. Colourful flower stalls and street entertainers abound, adding to the city's unique character.
Captivating Costa Brava - Tossa Del Mar & Lloret de Mar
Enjoy a change of scenery and join an included tour along the coast to Tossa del Mar, full of appeal and golden good looks of a classic Spanish beach resort - fun and friendly, you can chill-out on the beach or sip a Sangria in one of the many cafes and watch the world go by. Tossa del Mar has an atmospheric old town, 'Vila Vella', with its cobbled streets, traditional houses and ancient castle.
Along the coast a stop in Lloret de Mar is a must. It may be one of the Costa Brava's largest and liveliest holiday hotspots, but Lloret de Mar's history goes back more than a thousand years. Throughout its transformation from fishing village to dynamic regional tourist centre, it has kept its distinctive personality and fiery spirit, apparent today in its vibrant nightlife.
Medieval Villages of Catalonia
Head inland for a full day discovering the delightful medieval villages in the pretty interior. Stop in Rupit, an historical village bursting with charm, where the residents proudly preserve their ancient heritage. Meander through the cobbled streets passed 16th-century houses. Continue to another lovely medieval gem of a town, Besalu, whose exceptional medieval architecture make it one of the most visited places in Catalonia. Set on the confluence of the Fluvia and Capadella rivers, the monumental 12th century bridge is a real landmark.
Day 8 - Retrace your steps through France, stopping for lunch opportunities en-route before continuing to the overnight hotel. Bed & breakfast.
Day 9 - After breakfast, we continue through France to Calais for our return to England.
