Gardens Galore! Wonderful Welsh Gardens

The superb gardens of Snowdonia share the mild Gulf Stream influence, acid soils and tender exotic plants of the better-known Cornish and West Coast Scotland gardens. Set in uniquely wild, rugged and picturesque Snowdonia with visits arranged that we are sure will delight and inspire you. If you are a lover of gardens then this is the tour for you. A combination of some wonderful Welsh gardens along with a few of the popular highlights of the area make this one not to be missed.

The Lion Hotel, Criccieth - has an Elegant lounge, bar, dance floor and pretty gardens. All bedrooms have TV, hairdryer & tea/coffee facilities. There is a lift to all floors. Please note: Some rooms will be allocated in the Castle View Cottage adjacent.

Day 1 - From your chosen joining point your feeder vehicle will take you to the designated interchange point where your holiday begins. After joining your holiday coach, head to North Wales for 4 nights. Dinner, bed and breakfast.

Days 2 - 4 At leisure in Criccieth with 2 included excursions.

Bodnant Gardens
Through Beddgelert to Betws-y-Coed with time lor lunch. Bodnant Gardens is one of the UK's most beautiful gardens, spanning 80 acres above the River Conwy. You can enjoy a wide range of interesting and beautiful plants from all over the world that are suited to the Welsh climate and soil. Visitors in May have the added bonus of seeing the famous Laburnum Arch, a 55 metre long tunnel with an overwhelming mass of yellow hanging flowers. Return along the shores of the Conwy Valley and through the 'Crimea Pass' to Blaenau Ffestiniog.

Plas Newydd Garden & Crug Farm Nursery
Enchanting mansion and gardens, with spectacular views of Snowdonia, set on the shores of the Menai Strait. This elegant house was redesigned by James Wyatt in the 18th century and there is a fine spring garden and Australasian arboretum, an Italianate-style summer terrace and massed hydrangeas. A stop at Crug Farm nursery for a tour of its woodland, walled garden and wonderful collections growing.

Portmeirion
Overlooking Cardigan Bay surrounded by acres of sub-tropical woodlands and sandy beaches, Portmeirion was built by visionary Welsh architect, Sir Clough Williams-Ellis, who wanted to prove that development did not have to mean destruction of the natural environment.

Day 5 - After breakfast with happy memories and possibly a few plants return homeward via interchange.
