CARRBRIDGE HOTEL, CARRBRIDGE
Family owned and managed, this 3* hotel is situated inside the Cairngorm National Park at its north west entrance in the 18th century village of Carrbridge, deep in the heart of the Scottish Highlands. Originally built in 1803, this sympathetically extended hotel is set in breath-taking scenery on the banks of the River Dulnain. The famous pack horse bridge, one of the oldest of its kind, is directly opposite the hotel. Bedrooms all have TV and tea / coffee making and there is a relaxed, informal restaurant. Lift available.



      YOUR ITINERARY
     
   

Day 1 - From your chosen joining point your feeder vehicle will take you to the designated interchange point where your holiday begins. After joining your holiday coach, travel north with suitable stops for lunch and refreshments. Arrive at your overnight hotel in the north late afternoon, in good time to freshen up for your evening meal. Dinner, bed & breakfast

Day 2 - After breakfast, continue the journey north into Scotland. Travel through the stunning scenery of the Scottish borders to the capital city of Edinburgh for lunch and sightseeing. Then continue to Carrbridge inside the Cairngorm National Park for your 4-night stay. Dinner, bed & breakfast.

Day 3 - 5 - At leisure in Carrbridge with two included excursions. Live musical entertainment on two evenings. Dinner, bed & breakfast.

INCLUDED EXCURSIONS
Road to the Isles and the Isle of Skye
An early start today as you journey through the landscape of the Cairngorm National Park and Monarch of The Glen country to follow the Road to the Isles. Make a brief stop at Glenfinnan to view the historical site where Bonnie Prince Charlie raised the standard in 1745 and then continue to Mallaig for the panoramic crossing to the Isle of Skye. Tour the Misty Isle with stops en route to enjoy wonderful views and some of the island's settlements. The return journey takes you over the Skye road bridge passed the most recognisable castle in Scotland, Eilean Donnan, and then you follow the remoteness of through Scotland's dramatic glens and scenery to return to Carrbridge.

Culloden Moor and Loch Ness
Discover the story of the last battle to be fought on British soil under the command of Bonnie Prince Charlie - the Jacobite Uprising of 1745, culminating in the Battle of Culloden which marked the end of an era for Scotland. Start by visiting Culloden Battlefield and Visitor Centre (entrance included), you will get an insight into the magnificent story of the young pretender and the Jacobites. Then enjoy a scenic tour of the most famous loch in Scotland - Loch Ness, where there will be an opportunity of an optional boat cruise on the Loch to search for Nessie the Monster.

Day 6 - Following breakfast head south to Pitlochry, which retains its Victorian ambiance before travelling to Queensferry to view one of the most iconic structures of Scotland and one of the world's great feats of engineering, The Forth Rail Bridge. From here continue to your overnight hotel in Northern England. Dinner, bed and breakfast.

Day 7 - After breakfast, return homewards, arriving back at your local joining points early to mid-evening.
