      Dramatic Italian Dolomites
Dramatic Italian Dolomites One of Europe’s Most Spectacular Regions

They may not be Italy's tallest mountains but the jagged snow-capped Dolomites are surely the most spectacular. In this beautiful part of Northern Italy, full of Tyrolean influences, it is all about the magnificent mountain scenery, picturesque lakes, pretty alpine style hamlets and lush fertile valleys covered with vines and orchards. Your base is the charming village of Fai della Paganella in the Trentino region where you will be made to feel at home by Fausto and his family at the charming and extremely popular chalet style Hotel Paganella. Added extras at the hotel include a free bar for 6 evenings between 6pm - 10.30pm, wine with dinner, a quiz night, wine tasting and the chance to go local with a try of the multi-spouted grolla cup and a picnic on a walk through the village.

  • Overnight hotel for 2 nights with breakfast

  • Hotel for 6 nights with breakfast & dinner

  • Welcome drink on arrival

  • Porterage in Italy

  • Unlimited water & wine with dinner

  • Tea/Coffee after dinner

  • Free bar 6pm to 10.30pm (selected drinks)

  • Three included excursions

Hotel Paganella
The small and friendly chalet-style Hotel Paganella is located in the pretty hamlet of Fai, nestled in the heart of the Brenta Dolomites. Fausto and his family ensure a warm welcome as they pass on their passion for the area to you. There is a cosy bar, a traditional restaurant serving excellent homemade Italian food, comfortable lounge area and a lift. Each of the comfortable 26 bedrooms has a hairdryer, satellite TV and telephone.

NB: As from June 2012, the Italian Government has imposed a new tourist tax which has to be paid locally at the hotel, in cash, by all visitors. Therefore, we must advise any customer booking a holiday staying in Italy that they are likely to be charged an additional charge, on arrival at the hotel, of approximately €1 per person, per night.

Day 2 - Departing after breakfast we enjoy a day of ever changing scenery as our scenic drive takes us through Austria and over the Brenner Pass before we enter Italy on our way to Fai della Paganella four your 6-night stay. We have a welcome drink on arrival and porterage is included here. Dinner, bed & breakfast.

Day 3 - 7 - At leisure in Fai della Paganella for 5 days with three included excursions. During your stay enjoy a walk and picnic in the surrounding countryside with compliments of your resort hotel as well as several activity evenings. Dinner, bed & breakfast

Merano & Lake Caldaro
Head to the Süd Tyrol to the pretty spa town of Merano which has an enticing 'Mediterranean meets the Alps' atmosphere. Beloved by generations of middle Europe's movers and shakers, from Austrian Royals to influential writers, Merano, with its medieval centre, leafy boulevards, sunny microclimate and art nouveau villas still draws health-conscious visitors who come to benefit from its therapeutic traditions. Return via the famous wine route of Alto Adige with a stop at Lake Caldaro.

Bolzano & Renon
Head off to Bolzano, the capital of the Dolomites, with the chance to Ötzi, the famous Ice Man, naturally mummified in ice for over 5,000 years (Museum entrance not included). Continue to Renon, a spectacular area of peaks and plateaus with the opportunity of an optional cable car and narrow gauge railway trip to reach the heart of this region, viewing the earth pyramids and beautiful scenery along the way.

Brenta Dolomites for a Day
A day touring the region as you head to Lake Toblino, one of the most romantic lakes in Trentino. The vegetation here is positively Mediterranean due to the mild climate and the highlight is the fairtytale 12th century Toblino Castle on the lakeshore. After a stop, continue to Pinzolo, a tiny jewel nestled amongst the Dolomites, with its ancient church of S. Virgilio, dating back to 1362, with its amazing frescos (Triumph of Death and the Macabre Dance). The coach will climb up to the popular ski resort of Madonna di Campiglio at 1550m. Known as the Pearl of the Brenta Dolomites, the village with all its cafes and restaurants makes a great place to stop for the afternoon and from the centre of town you may like to explore the mountains on one of the gondola lifts (fare not included).

Riva del Garda
The resort of Riva del Garda, based on the north point of stunningly beautiful Lake Garda, has plenty going on, with a charming pedestrianised, medieval centre and lakeside promenade.

Day 8 - Farewell to Italy as you retrace your steps back through Austria and on to the final overnight hotel. Bed & breakfast.

Day 9 -
After breakfast, travel back through France to Calais for the return to England.
