DAY 1 - From your chosen joining point your feeder vehicle will take you to the designated interchange point where your holiday begins. After joining your holiday coach, you will travel to Dover for the short sea crossing to Calais. Continue into France and onto the overnight hotel stop. Bed and breakfast.
DAY 2 - Relax and watch the scenery unfold as the journey takes you southwards to Lake Garda for your 5-night stay in Torbole sul Garda. Porters assist with luggage whilst you enjoy a welcome drink on arrival at the relaxed Club La Vela. Dinner, bed and breakfast.
DAY 3 - DAY 6 - You will have four full days to explore this beautiful region with TWO INCLUDED excursions. Dinner, bed and breakfast. One Gala night with music. From Torbole there is a pleasant lakeside promenade to the neighbouring resort of Riva del Garda (approx. 4km).
Riva del Garda
A short transfer from Torbole for a leisurely day to explore the neighbouring resort of Riva del Garda at the foot of the Brenta Dolomites. Why not visit Rocca di Riva, the ancient castle which today houses a local museum or the 13th century clock tower. Enjoy a stroll along the lakeside promenade or saunter through the beautifully preserved, pedestrianised Citta Vecchia (Old Town). There will be an opportunity to join an optional excursion to the magnificent Varone waterfalls which cascades into a gorge with a drop of almost 100 metres. This wonderful spectacle is accessible via walkways (approx. 70 shallow, wide steps - a waterproof may be useful) which afford views from below and above. There will also be time to visit the pretty botanical gardens before continuing on with a scenic drive to the crystal clear spearmint Lake Tenno.
Romeo & Juliet's Verona
Journey to the magnificent old city of Verona, famous for Shakespeare's 'Romeo and Juliet'. Bordered on three sides by the River Adige, the streets of Verona's ancient centre follow the layout of the Roman city. Upon arrival you may either explore the city on your own or join the optional guided city tour by coach and then on foot.
Your tour manager will be able to offer a cruise on Lake Garda (subject to availability and seasonal timetable changes) to the pretty resort of Limone sul Garda, known for its distinctive remnants of old lemon houses. Full details and prices from your Tour Manager.
Half Day Malcesine
Head south along the eastern shore to Malcesine, nestled in the shadow of Monte Baldo. Malcesine is one of the most attractive towns on the whole lake and has, for decades, drawn writers and artists with its picture perfect setting and historic castle. For a spectacular view over Lake Garda there is nothing to beat a ride on the Malcesine cableway (costs not included - approx. €20 full fare return in 2016) which rises to 1600 metres in just ten minutes to the top of Monte Baldo.
DAY 7 - It's arrivederci to Lake Garda as you head northwards on the way to the final overnight stop.
DAY 8 - Today after an early breakfast, continue back through France to Calais for the return crossing to England.
