DAY 1 - From your chosen joining point our feeder vehicle will take you to our designated interchange point where your holiday begins. After joining your holiday coach, we make our way to Dover for the short sea crossing to Calais. We then continue via the auto-routes of France to our overnight stop with breakfast included.
DAY 2 - Lots to see today as our journey takes us past the Rhine Falls in Switzerland on our way to our holiday base at Feldkirch for our 5 night stay with a hot punch on arrival.
DAYS 3 - 6: At leisure in Feldkirch with TWO INCLUDED excursions.
Bregenzerwald, Lake Constance and Lindau:
Our first excursion takes us through the snowy, forested landscape of the Bregenzerwald before our visit to the distillery of the Bentele Brothers with their famous Schnapps - cheers! We continue through the Schwarzenberg before seeing the magnificent view of Lake Constance en-route to the Bavarian port town of Lindau, wonderfully situated on an island in the lake. On the return journey we visit Bregenz, the capital of Vorarlberg, the province furthest west in Austria.
Chur - Arosa - Chur Rail Journey:
Today we head to the highest Swiss mountains on our journey to Chur, the capital of the largest Swiss canton, Grisons. Chur is also the oldest city in Switzerland, and here you will board the reserved compartments on the Rhaetian Railway for our return rail journey. More than a thousand metres above Chur is the famous holiday resort of Arosa. The journey gets off to a spectacular start in Chur, for the train follows a route that takes it through the city centre. Once out of the town, the railway line winds its way up into the mountains across deep ravines and through dark tunnels. The trip across the 100 metre long Langwieser Viaduct is a particularly exhilarating experience. Back in Chur there will be free time to explore the old town before we return to our hotel.
OPTIONAL EXCURSION - Zurs, Lech:
We travel through the Walgau up to the Flexen Pass (1773m) to the famous ski resorts of Zürs and Lech, where many famous families have spent their winter holidays including our royal family. Enjoy the wintery atmosphere with a tour around the village. The return journey will lead you along the Kloster Valley, past Bludenz, the home of Suchard Chocolate and back to our resort at Feldkirch.
DAY 7 - Today it's farewell to Austria as we return northwards to our overnight stop for one night with breakfast.
LAST DAY - After breakfast, we travel back to Calais for our return to England.
