      Edinburgh Military Tattoo
Edinburgh Military Tattoo Pipes, Drums & Bands - 3 or 4 day holidays

Experience the Edinburgh Military Tattoo on our coach holiday to Scotland.
Since 1950 the Edinburgh Military Tattoo has been an annual event held at the city’s castle during the period of the Edinburgh Festival and is attended by more than 250,000 people each year. The varied programme includes music from the massed pipes and drums of the Scottish Regiments and its international flavour is provided by the participation of foreign units from all over the globe. The delicate play of lights on the Castle ramparts, the vibrancy of the music and the excited applause of the thousands of spectators make this a spectacle that is unrivalled. Early booking is essential due to the limited availability of tickets.

DAY 1: After joining your holiday coach, we make our way northwards with suitable stops for lunch and refreshments. We arrive at our hotel in Glasgow early evening, in time for our first evening meal together. Porterage is included.

DAY 2 (All holidays) - Edinburgh – Capital Scotland & Military Tattoo:
Today we make our visit to the city of Edinburgh, with plenty of time for both shopping and sightseeing before attending the tattoo. Edinburgh Castle has dominated its surroundings with majesty for centuries. The Royal Mile is actually more than a mile by 107 yards. It starts at the Castle entrance and continues to the gates of Holyrood Palace. (Entrances not included). During the day you may like to join our optional city tour. Full details from your driver.

This evening we climb the ramparts of Edinburgh Castle and take our seats (Mid price entrance to Tattoo included) for the world famous Tattoo. As hush falls and darkness deepens, the great oak gates of the Castle sweep open and the swell of the pipes and drums cracks through the night sky. As the massed bands march out in their hundreds across the drawbridge, feel the hairs on the back of your neck stand up! NB: No evening meal included tonight.

DAY 3 (4 Day Holidays only) - Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park:
A full-day included excursion along the bonnie, bonnie banks of Loch Lomond. Ben Lomond stands guard over Loch Lomond, the largest expanse of freshwater in Great Britain and the romantic centrepiece of the National Park. In the north the loch is deep and narrow, bound by steep-sided mountains whilst, further south, it spills into an island studded panorama. Our journey today takes us along the west bank, via Tarbet, Arrochar, Loch Long, Gare Loch to Helensburgh.

LAST DAY: After breakfast, we return homewards, arriving back at your local joining points early to mid evening.
